My other half, my best friend, my sister....she has returned!!!!!!!!
My flower is back! After 3 weeks in Sinaloa, Mexico, Rose flew home today and we spent 5 hours talking non-stop. Ok, so that means when I return after 4 months we will talk for 27 hours straight. Yep, that's about right.
Things are just right between us. We understand each other, we can say exactly what we are thinking without fear, without rejection. There are very few people who set me at such an ease. It's so wonderful, like floating on water. Nothing holding you down...
I didn't realize how much I missed her....but I definitely am realizing how much I will very soon.
21 days to Europe. 21 days left of summer. 21 days.

Adventure!
I wish I was more adventurous. i.e. Full of risk, requiring courage, and hazardous.
But in all honesty, I would say the exact opposite is true. I am prudent and cautious. I map out all my steps before I take them, and no detours, please.
I wonder how I will be in Europe? Will I take the unknown roads? I guess I have to, as I have never been. There is no safety, no comfort! Bring on the life experiences!

Routine
I honestly don't know what to write about. My life seems to circle around, every day the same. It's really sunny and warm here, as usual: Pure California Sunshine.
No changes.
My Routine:
I get up at 0630, go to work, check facebook/gmail/blogs, and wave at the regulars, answer phones, give directions, smile intermittenly. At 1130 take lunch with the ground crew workers, finish the last half of my shift in the office. Relax in my room after 1600, spend too much time inside, in bed. Read about Paris, and possibly hang out with E or K or B until 2300....
Fall asleep listening to iTunes.
Start over next morning i.e. Wash and repeat/Work and repeat.
Only 24 days until I leave this all behind!

Europe
I leave in 28 days for my semester in Europe!!!!!!!!!!!!
This feeling of excitement that I am displaying tonight is a result of my Euro-dinner with 7 other of my fellow classmates who are going with me in August. Through lots of animated conversation and laughter I was somehow struck, or rather bitten by that old travel bug. The excitement is now inside, beginning to boil. Just a simmer now, but the heat is on!! I've got the ITCH, the wander-lust, the squirmy desire to move on, see new things and people...
Now, I have the motivation to go out and buy not only my luggage, but also toiletries, clothes, shoes, etc. I need to crack open my French 2 book and start fresh! It has taken me so long to actually realize that YES, I am indeed going abroad. Now that it's sunk in, I'm ready to begin. :)

Monderful Monday
Aaaand another book finished!!!Almost four in two days! I've just become quite the voracious book worm lately. Now if only I'd start on my assigned summer novels.....
I spent my day off pleasantly relaxed in my room: reading, cleaning, sleeping, eating. And then I spent the evening out walking with a friend and enjoying the warm night air. The sky was a soft pink and blue with the dark palms silhouetted against it.
Aww, summer, you are so good to me.
Tomorrow I have a pizza making party planned with E and then shopping with A! I've been so wonderfully engaged each evening since my Rosie left on the 9th that there has been barely one moment to feel lonely.

Settled yet not safely...
Just finished another book: The Ice Queen. It was so poetic, full of beautiful language and dark imagery. I wish I could write like that, bringing another world to someone. A swift escape, a journey through the night.
I made a goal once to write a novel. Maybe I will someday. If I ever find the right story to tell. I won't settle for just anything. It has to be as close to perfect as possible, bringing a soft sigh at its ending.
Mostly I feel like everything good has already been thought up, written out, painted, and lived. But if that was true, why continue on? There HAS to be more to discover. A reason for tomorrows. Hope, you know?
And tonight, that is what I have. Lots of bright hope for the future.

My boring life
I'm sorry that my life seems so boring in this blog. It really is not. I just haven't flourished yet as a witty blog-writer (or so I tell myself). And I also do not have much interaction with other people, besides smiling and waving as they drive by my guard/welcome booth every day.
I'm working a partial grave-yard tonight for my good friend, B.
I like leaving people's names mysterious in a blog. Of course, that makes things a little less boring for readers (?) Or maybe it's just kind of stupid. Ha, well I'm secure enough with myself to be seen as stupid. Only with little things though (not that confident I guess). And I prefer using the word silly as opposed to stupid, which I just found out means the same thing:
sil⋅ly - adjective
1. weak-minded or lacking good sense; stupid or foolish: "a silly writer. "
2. absurd; ridiculous; irrational: "a silly idea. "
3. stunned; dazed: "He knocked me silly. "
Wow! Last time I laugh, calling myself, "silly," trying to be cute! No siree. I am onto new self-descriptions. I've decided upon the much more positive droll and waggish.
So, I have three more hours until morning awakens. Decidedly, I am a person of the day. Diurnal by nature. Darkness brings thoughts of soft dreams and feathered pillows to my mind. I must note this for all future job applications- "works best in the bright hours of sunlight" or maybe something that sounds less like flower care. Hmmmm......
Crumbly, burned cookies and the Dixie Chicks are keeping me company. How silly.

Now if you are going to win the battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.

Restless Reader
I learned to read at age 6, and there's been no stopping me since.
Words draw me in and hold power over my imagination. Their magical transporting properties fill me with anticipation whenever I open a book. I enjoy the way letters look, the shapes words form in my mouth, interesting sounds they make, meanings they take. I collect them. I write lists of favorites- words, meanings, places, names, objects. When I was younger I yearned to be a poet, a true word-lover. My talent was lacking, but I still desire to own words, make them mine, give them breath and life.
I have read so much this summer, and watched so many movies! Information overload!! And all I do is sit, solitary at work, and try to keep my mind occupied.
Recently I've read the Sookie vampire series (9 in total), random nature poetry, Redeeming Love, The Phantom Tollbooth, and currently on Les Miserables. The adventures and visions are incredible inside these pages. I escape from my little guard box out to the Mediterranean Ocean or the busy streets of Paris....and then off to the Mountains of Ignorance and the Sea of Knowledge....
On another note:
It's hard for me to focus on one thing for very long. I refuse to think I have an attention disorder though. It's more laziness than anything. That's my biggest vice. When I finally conquer laziness, I will be swept off into the sublime. My soul is ready to experience everything, instead of just read about passion in a book. I hunger and thirst for LIFE at its fullest. I'm extremely restless.
Right now I'm in a period of waiting. And I believe that God is letting me stay here until I am ready. He is letting me decide when to trust and move forward. God, help me !

Wedding Bliss
My brother and his lovely bride were married on Friday evening as the sun was setting. It was such a beautiful, miraculous act to witness. I think that the audience was not nearly as enchanted as I was, for my breath caught, my heart stopped. Oh, it was magnificent to see the man that my brother has grown to be. I've been there for twenty years of his life journey and to be present at this ceremony was such a privilege. He is one of the main male role models in my life, besides my dad, so this was very important to me! I wish I knew more guys like him- truly, as his best man put it, a gentleman.
I was bursting with pride as they tenderly exchanged vows. I know beyond doubt that they will live happily ever after, that true love exists and IS worth waiting for. It was magical.
